ATHLETICS ARE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!
PLANS ARE BEING DEVELOPED TO HAVE ATHLETICS WHEN WE RETURN TO IN-SCHOOL LEARNING.
ONCE WE ARE BACK TO IN-SCHOOL LEARNING, WE WILL PUBLISH THE PLANS.

Uniform message for middle school athletics.

In an effort to ensure the safety of our students and staff, Prince William County Public Schools has postponed middle school interscholastic athletics until December 14, 2020. This aligns with the beginning of the Virginia High School League athletics and will allow us to monitor CDC data as it relates to the Covid-10 pandemic. We are currently working on structuring a condensed athletic schedule and will examine all options to hopefully include all athletic programs we have previously offered. This will create challenges and require flexibility.

We are exploring creative solutions to combat the many challenges. The availability of field space, transportation limitations, and scheduling conflicts with officials are a few examples of the challenges we will face. We are confident that as a team of stakeholders, we can all be flexible in our efforts to accomplish the goal of providing our middle schools students the opportunity to safely compete in interscholastic athletics.

Please plan on your student’s participation by making sure they have a current physical dated May 1, 2020, or after, complete the online concussion training, and regularly monitor your school’s websites for updates. We hope to see everyone on the courts, fields, and playing surfaces on December 14, 2020.

IT IS ADVISED TO GO AHEAD AND GET YOUR ATHLETIC PHYSICAL AND CONCUSSION TRAINING COMPLETED.  KEEP YOUR DOCUMENTS UNTIL TRYOUTS BEGIN FOR YOUR SPORT.

*Students are not permitted to walk home after try outs, practice or a game unless they normally walk to school in the morning
*Parents must pick their child up after try outs and practice by 5:20 p.m.; after a game 6:30 p.m, in the back of the building, unless advised otherwise. Carpooling is strongly suggested.  There are two activity buses that have limited routes.  If you are in the math/science program, these buses will not take you home.

**IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you do not wait until the night before try outs begin, to complete online concussion training.
If you do this, you run the risk of not being able to complete your training, if the system is overwhelmed by an excessive volume of people trying to take their training at the same time. So do your training early.
