Application Process
The online application for the Mathematics and Science Program will open on November 1st and close on Februrary 1st of each school year.
To apply for the 2023-2024 school year, go to the Advanced Academics and Specialty Program Website.
Decisions will be communicated to families in mid to late February of each year.
Off-Cycle Applications
Off-cycle Specialty Program applications are available only for students who transfer into PWCS outside the application window (November 1-February 1). Students new to PWCS who wish to apply for Specialty Programs must do so within 30 days of enrollment.
Once the student has enrolled at their base school, the family should create an account for the online application portal. Then they may request an off-cycle Specialty Program application by contacting Advanced Academics and Specialty Programs at aasp@pwcs.edu.
Rising 7th and 8th Grade Applicants
Students CAN apply to the program during their 6th and 7th grade year for entry the following school year! If you are a rising 7th grade student, you must be in Math 6 Extended during your 6th grade year and meet grade and SOL requirements. Rising 8th graders must be in Math 7 Extended (or Algebra I) going into Algebra I (or Geometry) in order to apply for the program and meet the grade and SOL requirements.
