Welcome to Math 7! I'm so excited to work with all of you this year. Thank you to those of you who turned in week 1 homework. Please turn it in if you haven't done so already.
This week we will study quadrilaterals. Monday and Tuesday we will discuss their characteristics and how they are related using the family tree. Wednesday we do do group work discussing their characteristics. Thursday we will play a board game. Friday we will take our test and begin transformations.
This week we are finishing our unit on Similar Figures. We will take our test on Thursday. Friday we will retake our proportions test. Homework 8 is due on Friday. Students are reminded that if they need help or have questions this week they need to ask Ms. Mankowski by Wednesday as she will be out of the building on Thursday and Friday.
Our proportions test will be on Monday, 10/31, decided upon by a vote in class. Tuesday we will review questions students have about previous objectives so we can retest on Wednesday. Wednesday, after the retest, we will work on finding 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 50% of a number mentally. Thursday will be a surprise! :)
We will have weekly homework, due Thursday, 11/3 due to No School Friday!!!
Also, missing homework for the quarter is going home Monday. Students may turn in their work by Thursday to change the NHI in the grade book to an A, B, C, or D.
Finally, we will retest any low-scoring objectives on Wednesday, November 2nd. A review sheet for these objectives will be sent home on Monday, 10/31. Students are expected to ask questions on Tuesday before they retest so they may raise their score.
This week we will continue to work on proportions and proportional reasoning. Our plan is to test on Thursday. No homework this week!
This week we will not have Math Homework. We will have a retest on Integers, Perfect Squares, and Absolute Value on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will begin work on our proportions unit.
This week we will continue to work on combining integers using an integer mat as well as a number line. We will have a quiz on Thursday. Please don't forget to complete and turn in your homework this week! If you haven't turned in past homework assignments, please turn them in as soon as possible for credit!
