Interims will go home the following week. FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE/LITERARY TERMS QUIZ THIS FRIDAY! Review your notes and be sure to ask questions as we review during our warm-up exercises.
October 3-7th: This week, our student teacher, Ms. Miller, will begin taking over the classroom. While I am still in the classroom and doing other duties, Ms. Miller will be the teacher in charge with grading, assignments, and daily learning. She will be with us until the beginning of December.
Reading Logs/Reactions are due again this Friday. Remember to turn your log in on time! We are enjoying reading your reactions and connections to the text.
We have started our unit on A Long Walk to Water. Be sure you have your novel packet daily as well as your plot diagram. What interesting vocabulary grabbed your attention? How have you connected with the novel (text-to-self)? Does the novel remind you of something else happening in society (text-to-world)?
REMEMBER TO BRING A PAIR OF HEADPHONES TO CLASS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13th!
October 11-14th: We hope you all enjoyed your Monday off! This week Cores 1, 3, and 4 will complete our classroom novel, A Long Walk to Water. Be sure that you are filling out your novel packet as they are due this week. We will also begin our Edgar Allan Poe study.

Our weekly reading log is again due Friday.
