This weeks lesson has been added to your class page.  Look for the file L5 file. Please send me an email if you have any questions about your lesson. I hope you are healthy and finding fun ways to enjoy the extra time with your family.  

5/11/20 Update-
This weeks lesson is a review that applies across all three grades it is on the need for a growth mindset to find success in all that you do. Look for the L4 file listed under your class under files and documents.

5/4/20 Update -
This weeks lessons have been added. Look for the L3 file.  The files are listed alphabetically not in date order. If you are just starting to do the weekly assignments the order for 6th and 8th does not matter but for 7th the first two assignments went together a part 1 and 2.

Starting this week for All Grades I will be posting review/enrichment assignments under the files and documents tab.
I will not be doing any live streaming of classes at this time. I will post the new lessons on Mondays.

7th Grade-
Please get your projects turned in to me by tomorrow.  This is your final grade for the 3rd quarter and I need to finalize my grades this week. I received many over the weekend and I will be grading and sending an email to tell you your grade on the project.  If you haven't received a response mail from me about your project by Thursday morning.  Send it to me again.  My plan is to have them all graded by Wednesday night. 

4/13/20 Update-


7th grade- I have had several questions about what is to be covered in the project. I am listing the questions to answer for the project here for everyone.   Please make every effort to get your project in by this Friday 4/17/20. 
1. Your beliefs about living on minimum wage before, during and after completing the research
2. Comments/your observations about the variation between low, middle and high cost options (rent, vehicle, groceries and such).
3.  Anything that you learned in the process that surprised you, you found interesting or gave you a new understanding.
4. Your thoughts on what are must haves and what are extras.
5. Were you able to make it on minimum wage? Comments on why or why not. Would having a roommate help?
6. How this project has affirmed/changed your thinking, Your answers on the before you begin page and what the research showed. What would you want to to do differently.

I'm adding videos on how to tie a necktie and one on how to tie a bow tie. Something fun to learn for all ages while you are at home.  Girls you never know when they will come into fashion again for us.

3/26/20 UPDATE- check back next week for an update

6th grade- no outstanding assignments. Nutrients and allergies test have been graded. If you were absent on 3/13/20 and missed the test it is an excused absence and I have exempted you from the test it will not count against you.

7th grade- You have your living on minimum wage packets and projects which were due 3/17/20 to complete and turn in.  Please take pictures of your completed packet pages and email them to me asap so I can give you credit. For the project you had the option of a poster, brochure or PowerPoint.  Be creative, demonstrate what you have learned from completing the packet in a fun and colorful way. A brochure template can be found online if you choose to do a brochure and can easily be emailed when completed. Also the powerpoint can be easily emailed to me once completed.  If you do not have access to online you can create a poster or brochure on paper take a picture and email it to me.

I am originally from Michigan. I moved to Warrenton, VA in 2009.  I am married with three children, two boys and a girl. All are involved in scouting keeping me very busy on the weekends.  When I do have free time I enjoy visiting family and reading books.  I have been teaching at Rippon Middle School since January 2016.
