*4/13/20 Update*

Hello Families!

We hope that you have had a wonderful spring break and are staying safe, healthy, and adjusting to our new normal.

You will be receiving an email from Ms. Everett and I in reference to our plan for distance learning going forward.  A copy of our calendar is posted below.  We will also be calling everyone tomorrow with more details and to answer any questions you may have.

Please remember that all of the instruction and assignments continue to be optional, so please do what works best for your family!

We look forward to talking with you and all of our students.  We miss them so much!

Love,
Ms. Z and Ms. E

Although PWCS is unable to provide instruction or class assignments to students while schools remain closed, our School Division hopes that the suggestions for optional learning activities posted here will help parents support student learning until schools re-open. Please remember that use of these materials and participation in these activities are optional and neither grades nor course credit will be awarded.
*3/30/20 Update*

Hello Families! We hope that you are staying safe and healthy! We have added learning activities for this coming week. These activities include the weekly News-2-You article and accompanying worksheets, a symbol supported reading comprehension packet, and a life-skills based math packet. Please keep in mind these activities are optional, please do what works best for your family!

We also suggest utilizing the websites provided in the useful links section of this web-page. These are great ways to keep the students engaged in learning based activities while having fun and utilizing technology.

Earlier this week we sent a survey regarding technology access. Please complete the survey as this will help us better prepare for future distance learning.

Stay Safe, we miss you and love you all!
Ms. E & Ms. Z

*3/23/20 Update*

Hello Families!

We’d like to start by saying, WE MISS YOU! We hope you are all doing well and keeping safe during this scary and uncertain time.  Please know that we are both available during regular school hours by email! We are happy to help any way that we can.

We have updated the “useful links” section of this web-page to include direct links to several educational websites. These websites are great activities for the kiddos to do during this time. They are familiar with most of them. These provide engaging practice of important skills. Some require login information. If you did not receive your child’s or need it again, just let us know!

We will be uploading the weekly News-2-You story and worksheets to this page. This information will change weekly. We have also included a suggested weekly plan for these activities. This resource practices math and reading skills, you are welcome to choose different pages to complete, but we thought it would be helpful to include something like what we would do in the classroom!

News-2-You has provided all students with free access to their L3-Life-skills learning system during this time. This is a game-based life skills practice tool. We have created a login for each student. The link to access this tool is included in the “Useful Links” page of the website. All you need to do once you are on the page is click on your students name and enter the password. The password to access this tool is Raiders123!

We have also uploaded several additional activity documents to the distance learning section of our web pageThese contain daily living skill focused activities that you can do at home.  This is a great time to practice daily living skills!

We know this is a lot of information at one time, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us for anything! We are here to make this transition to home-learning as smooth as we can!

*Please remember that the activities we are providing are OPTIONAL.  We want you to have resources and activities available to you, but please do what works best for your family! Your family's well-being is top priority!*

Love,

Ms. Z and Ms. E

Dear Parents,
Please read the letter that was sent home with your child today.  It offers some information and ideas for providing learning opportunities for your child during the COVID-19 closure.  In addition, we sent home some reading, writing, and math materials and a few books with each child.  We will update this page with more information as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience during this time!
Sincerely,
Ms. Z & Ms. E
