Today our class started a pen pal project! We will be writing letters to 6th grad students in North Carolina! The students wrote short introductions about themselves and took pictures to send to their pen pals! The students are very excited to begin corresponding with our new friends!
After school tutoring is cancelled today due to the incoming inclement weather. Students will be coming home their normal way.
Just a reminder after school math tutoring begins today. If your child is not signed up, please let me know and I will send home another permission slip. Also, the students were given their weekly review sheet for homework. It is due on Friday. Lastly just a reminder that our Grade Level night will be held on February 1st from 6:30-8:00PM. Please come and see what your students have been learning during the first half of the year! :)
I hope everyone had a wonderful break! I just wanted to let everyone know that both the math and science calendars are updates through the end of our current units. I have also posted on our class pages with information regarding upcoming quizzes and tests ( quizzes in math and science on 1/6, Math unit test is scheduled for 1/11, science unit test is schedule for 1/13). I also uploaded a copy of this weeks homework should anyone need another. We are currently working on dividing and multiplying fractions in math and focusing on human impact on our local watershed in science. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Hello! I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy winter break! The students have been doing such a great job recently they have earned a small holiday celebration on Wednesday, December 21st. The students will get to watch a movie and signed up today for snacks that they would like to bring to share with the class. Please remember all snacks must be nut-free in order to keep all of our students safe. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I have also updated the useful links portion of this page to include a link to Study Island and Math Playground. These sites would be great practice methods for over the break!
Greetings! This morning all Core 1 students received permission slips for our field trip to colonial Fredericksburg. All payment and permission forms are due no later than December 2nd. Also, please know that if your student has an unpaid cafeteria balance or overdue library books they will not be permitted to attend the trip.
All Core 2 and Core 3 students received letters regarding after school tuoring for math. The sessions will be held on Monday afternoons beginning in January. I am able to take 12 students per session, however if there is a greater interest, I may be able to open another session. Please have these forms completed and returned to me NO LATER than December 12th.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this information! :)
Hello! Just a reminder that the tan Impact Aid forms that were sent home last week were due on 10/21. ALL forms must be completed and returned to school as soon as possible.
Both the math and science calendars have been updated to reflect quizzes and tests for our current units as well as homework that is due. We are working on fractions, decimals, and percents in math. As well as identifying them from a visual representation. In science we are studying chemical symbols and equations. We will begin studying the types of matter next week. As always please feel free to contact me at any time!
